Elysium: [CORE]

Utilising pre-war technology, Elysium Correspondence were able to re establish a scientific presence within the world. Their primary goal was to drive humanity's recovery forward; they came to the conclusion that humanity could not accomplish this unguided, and began to develop a terrible artificial mind.

Elysium: [CORE] is a survival horror tabletop role-playing game in which players, controlling those who have survived a final catastrophic war, explore the industrial remnants of abandoned initiatives.

Scavengers explore the Vaults, facilities across an ever-frozen ice sheet, that have been abandoned by Elysium Correspondence. The company aimed to create a robotic [CORE] to guide humanity out of hardship: with analogue Tabernacles chirping prophecy and suffocating Wires, hot with information, coiling across surviving communes, it seems they succeeded in their goal.

The project was abandoned. The [CORE] continues to operate.

Features:

-Simplistic character creation and resolution mechanics that put focus on player agency as well as the consequences of player decisions.

-Character progression through 'Alteration', with scavengers becoming physiologically influenced by the machines they discover. Through Alteration Scavengers grow more powerful and gravely inhuman.

-Detailed exploration procedures and seven Vaults which players can explore, each with extensive random tables making them suitable for zero-prep and procedural play.

-Sixteen monsters, all with their own unique mechanics, that can be found throughout the frozen industrial wastes.

-A dark setting that is not entirely mechanically oppressive. Player characters can put up a fight.

Elysium: [CORE] reinterprets content from Elysium and Elysium: Seraph Protocol. Unlike these games, which are system-agnostic, Elysium: [CORE] is designed to be its own standalone game suitable for long-term campaign play.
